Maximum Cooling. Maximum Saving

    • Install the chest freezer away from direct sunlight, draught of air or any other heat generating appliances like stove, oven etc.
    • Chest freezer components like compressors generate heat, so provide enough breathing space around Chest Freezer (min. 300 mm) for continuous airflow around the product. If the heat can't escape, the chest freezer's cooling system will work harder and consume more electrical energy.
    • Check door gasket for any air leakage. Door gaskets should provide a tight seal. Replace gaskets that have become hard or out of shape or leaving small gap.
    • All the chest freezer have to be defrosted manually, defrost it regularly (when frost builds up over freezer is about 6 mm thick). A defrosted chest freezer operates more efficiently than one that is ice-coated.
    • Keep the frequency & duration of door opening to the minimum. For this, think about what you need to take out or store before opening chest freezer door. You'll reduce the amount of time the door remains open.
    • Fully loaded chest freezer is fine but ensure adequate air circulation inside.
    • Never place hot food inside the Chest Freezer; allow it to cool it room temperature before storing in the chest freezer.
    • Cover/wrap all food stuff; especially liquids, leafy vegetables etc.
    • Do not use chest freezer on maximum setting unnecessarily.
    • Myth - Chest Freezers are supposed to add coldness to the food inside of it.
    • Truth - Chest Freezers do not add cooling, they actually remove the heat from the food and the air inside it. This heat is then transferred to the exterior condenser that in turn is absorbed by the air in the room.
    • Myth - Chest freezer are supposed to drop the temperature of the product
    • Truth - Chest freezer does not drop the temperature, it maintains the temperature by removing heat from the food and the air inside it. This heat is then transferred to the skin condenser that in turn is absorbed by the air in the room.
  • Maintain proper chest freezer temperatures
    • To keep vegetables from turning brown or becoming "soft" or dry in the Chest Freezer, storage guidelines should be followed carefully. Below given are some storage tips to help maximize vegetable storage.

  • Meat
    • Fresh meat, luncheon meat should be stored in the chest freezer with maximum freezing thermostat position with adequate packaging. A temperature control/air control adjusts the amount of cold air entering the freezer.

  • Chest freezer not operating
    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Plug at wall socket is disconnected / Main switch is defective or OFF.
SOLUTION : Push plug into wall socket. Check and replace switch or make it ON

    • PROBLEM CAUSE : House fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped.
SOLUTION : Replace fuse [correct size] or reset circuit breaker.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Inadequate voltage [Should be [220 V +/-10%].
SOLUTION : Call local authorized electrical person to correct it.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE :Chest freezer Temp. Control is OFF.
SOLUTION : Turn Chest freezer Control ON.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Ambient temp. Is low / high.
SOLUTION : Chest freezer works satisfactorily in the range of 16 to 43℃.

  • Referigerator running too long or is not cooling properly
    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Chest Freezer has been recently disconnected for long period of time.
SOLUTION : It takes about 24 hrs. For the Chest Freezer to cool down completely so runs for long time.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Room or outside weather is hot.
SOLUTION : It is normal. The Chest Freezerhas to run longer time under such condition to maintain desired temp.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Doors are open too frequently or for too long.
SOLUTION : Warm air entering the Chest Freezer causes it to run more. Try to open the door less often & for very short period.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE :Large amount of warm or hot food may have been stored recently.
SOLUTION : Warm food will cause the Chest Freezer to run more until the desired temp. is reached.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Chest Freezer is too close to the walls or overhead cabinet.
SOLUTION : Provide sufficient clearance around and above Chest Freezer as mentioned in user's manual

    • PROBLEM CAUSE :Internal lights remain "on"
SOLUTION : Check for proper door closure and operation of light switch.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE :Chest Freezer not defrosted for long period.
      SOLUTION :Defrost Chest Freezer regularly.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE :Chest Freezer or Freezer gasket is dirty, worn out, torn or not fitted properly.
SOLUTION :Clean or change gasket. Leaks in door gaskets will cause Chest Freezer to run longer in order to maintain desired temp.

  • Louder sound levels whenever chest freezer is on
    • PROBLEM CAUSE : High speed compressors.
SOLUTION : It is normal for sound levels to be higher. Since today's Chest freezer have increased storage capacity and lower operating temp. ranges, these require a high-speed compressor.

  • Louder sound when motor comes on
    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Chest Freezer Operates at higher pressures during the start of the ON cycle.
SOLUTION : This is normal. Sound will level off or disappear as Chest Freezer continues to run.

  • Vibration or rattling noise
    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Chest Freezer not level / Floor is uneven or weak. [Chest Freezer rocks on the floor when moved slightly]
SOLUTION : Be sure the floor is level and can adequately support Chest Freezer. Adjust the leveling legs or rollers as needed.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Items placed on top of Chest Freezer are vibrating.
      SOLUTION :Remove items.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE :Dishes / bottles / shelves vibrating in the Chest Freezer
SOLUTION :It is normal for dishes to vibrate slightly. Move the dishes slightly. Make sure Chest Freezer is leveled

    • PROBLEM CAUSE :Chest Freezer is touching walls or cabinets.
SOLUTION : Provide sufficient clearance around and above Chest Freezer as mentioned in user's manual.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE :Chest Freezer is touching walls or cabinets.
SOLUTION : Provide sufficient clearance around and above Chest Freezer as mentioned in user's manual.

  • Odor in chest freezer
    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Chest Freezer interior needs cleaning.
SOLUTION :Clean interior with sponge, warm water and baking soda. Keep deodorizes inside.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE : Food with strong odor kept in Chest Freezer.
      SOLUTION : Cover food tightly.

    • PROBLEM CAUSE :Some containers and wrapping papers produced odor.
SOLUTION : Use different container or brand of wrapping paper.
